The Wandering Sheep

Ask me anything   I post everything from Harry Potter to Gossip Girl to delicious desserts and everything else in between!

Although there were multiple hints throughout, watch the whole show as you may, but it’s inevitable that there are plot holes about Dan being Gossip Girl.

Why? Because I’m sure even the writers didn’t know that Dan was really Gossip Girl from the beginning. Pretty sure they never really quite thought of how to end it until they realized they were nearing the end and need to pick someone.

In fact, I didn’t even think they’d ever reveal it, and I would’ve been fine with GG writers leaving who GG is as a mystery, but they actually chose not to troll that way and picked the easiest character to be GG. Let’s face it. GG writers have lost much of their creativity a long time ago. Daniel Humphrey was the easiest choice in being GG besides Jenny Humphrey, but they wanted someone in the inside, and someone who could actually intelligently pull it off.

SO LIST THE PLOT HOLES ALL YOU WANT, CRAZIES. JUST ACCEPT IT.

Gossip Girl finale

There was no twist or shocking reveal. It was really just tying everything together.

It had a hint of rush in there, but because most of the stuff were expected, it didn’t feel too much like it was rushed. It was definitely time for Gossip Girl to go. The writers have made each character go to hell and back and go to hell again.

I’m sad Rufus and Lily didn’t get together. That didn’t make sense to me. Derena already shared a brother. Everybody’s already slept with each other and then some. Why couldn’t they just be together again while Derena happened?

I wanted more Eric and J, but they were gone for so long, it just made sense that they showed up a couple seconds.

Nate Archibald for mayor? Um. That’s just… no. He’s done well for himself, but after all the Natefused years of watching him finally become the competent NY Spectator boss. It just can’t happen.

WOW, Serena’s wedding dress was ugly. It looked really cheap, and I didn’t think it suited Serena’s style besides how it was gold. I think it fit into how Serena had that gold dress when Derena was together back in high school, but they could’ve picked a better dress in the end.

Love how little Henry Bass was wearing a purple shirt and bow tie. Like father, like son.

But where’s Eleanor’s other child with Cyrus?

Finally, Georgina and Jack? Too weird for me.

I wish Dorota’s family was somehow incorporated btw.

And that’s that. I thought I’d be emotional about it, but I’d come into acceptance about everything in Gossip Girl. I wish they pulled a serious feel good plot twist. That Dan WASN’T Gossip Girl. It was just really predictable… He’s been the #1 suspect since season 1 for the exact reasons he pointed out. He was the outsider, the spectator, who didn’t belong. Plus, he’s a freakin’ writer.

Alas! It’s done though. It’ll be odd re-watching old episodes without imagining that it was from the viewpoint of Dan. The best part of the finale was finally having Kristen Bell there. Rachel Bilson was also a nice touch, but Kristen Bell was the best thing to happen in that episode. It was definitely the most shocking part of the episode.

So, finally, goodbye, Gossip Girl.

Time to buy my own messenger bag, move to UES, and write myself into that world, too!

Uh, like because this links Gossip Girl to Percy Jackson through references of Greek mythology. Yes, yes, yes all around.

Serena: Oh, come on. It’s Blair’s shoot, so I have to be there for moral support.
Dan: Blair? Well, I’m definitely not going now.
Serena: Look, she’s really not as bad as you think.

Dan: Blair, you had someone who loved you unconditionally, treated you right and wanted to be with you every day.

After going through season 5 of Gossip Girl, I’ve finally decided I should check out the books it’s inspired from that most say are better than the show, but I don’t see it. What’s the appeal in these books?

If anything, everyone is dumber, infinite times more superficial, than the characters in the show. I started reading because people say that it focuses more on Nair, but I just get pissed off at Nate because he’s infinite times more natefused—no, he’s just fucking high—than the show. I don’t get it.
